White Sox 4 Twins 2: It's Good To Be Home

It's also nice to be playing the Twins.

Yes, the road trip from hell is over and the Sox returned home with some new mustaches for Kevin Hickey and the magical power to get a couple hits with runners in scoring position. Hell, things were going so well for the Sox tonight that Gordon Beckham drove in 3 runs.

That's right, Gordon Beckham.

Bacon got things started with a two-run homer and then drove in an insurance run in the eighth inning that ultimately wasn't needed, but was still nice to see.

Still, the real hero of the night was Hector Santiago. Making his first start of the season, Hector went 5 innings and allowed only 1 run.

Sure, that run came on a homer from Jamey Carroll -- Carroll's first home run in three years -- but we can't all be perfect. While I'm sure pitching against the Twins had a lot to do with Hector's performance, it's nice to see young Sox pitchers keep filling in and performing well while doing so.

With the Tigers losing this afternoon against the Indians, this win returns sole possession of first place to the White Sox. Let's try and add to the one-game lead before Detroit gets here in a week.
