Royals 7 White Sox 5: Forever Kansas City's Bitch
I'm am really sick and tired of losing to Kansas City. If there weren't so much on the line right now it'd be pretty damn hilarious, but, well, there's a lot on the line right now.
We are fighting for a chance to be eliminated in the Division Series here, people!
Seriously, this loss sucks. Every loss to Kansas City sucks. This sucky loss, however, falls squarely on the shoulders of Francisco Liriano.
Sox get Liriano a lead after the first, he immediately surrenders it to the Royals in the second.
Sox tie things up in the fourth, Frankie immediately gives the Royals the lead back in the fifth.
Sox tie it up in the fifth again, and I bet you can't guess what Liriano does in the sixth.
5 innings, 5 earned runs, 4 walks and 4 strikeouts. A line that's becoming all too familiar for Liriano lately.
You can't solely blame this one on the offense -- and the Sox offense did blow a couple wonderful chances and totally deserves some of the blame -- when Liriano isn't giving this team much of a chance.
The bullpen would come on and pitch three scoreless innings before Addison Reed gave up Lorenzo Cain's second homer of the night in the ninth, and the Sox weren't able to muster up the Walkoff Friday magic.
We get another shot at the Royals tomorrow. I'm just as scared as you are.
