Listen, it's late and I have to be up early for a 15-hour day tomorrow, so this is going to be short and sweet.
Coming into this series I felt like the Sox needed to go 7-6 over their final 13 games because that would force Detroit to go 10-3 to win the division. In order to go 7-6 I thought the Sox could get away with winning only one game in Anaheim this weekend, except that the I thought the most winnable game would be tonight's.
Dan Haren and Jered Weaver aren't going to make life much easier the rest of the weekend.
That being said, I'm not panicking and you shouldn't be either. The Sox caught a break tonight as well when Detroit's game was rained out. That means the Tigers have to play a doubleheader on Sunday, and even if it's against the Twins, no team wants to play a doubleheader this late in the season when they're trying to catch another team from behind.
So while this game sucked, the night wasn't all bad.
