|Adam Dunn's 2 homers become a mere footnote|
We were all relaxed just counting down the outs until this game was over and we could add another game to our cushion over the Tigers.
Then things just went to shit.
With a 7-2 lead in the ninth inning, the Sox had to burn through three relievers in Phil Humber, Donnie Veal and Addison Reed. That trio gave up 4 hits, walked 3 guys and allowed 6 runs.
Suddenly Seattle had an 8-7 lead, but it didn't matter if Seattle had a lead, they were only playing into our hands.
I mean, it was Walkoff Friday.
Gordon Beckham picked up an infield single, Dewayne Wise walked, Kevin Youkilis singled to bring home Beckham, and then two batter later Paul Konerko hit a fly ball into the right-center gap. A fly ball that Michael Saunders and Eric Thames collided while trying to catch, causing Thames to drop the ball and Wise to score the winning run.
Just another run-of-the-mill win for the White Sox.
