John Danks Has Surgery, Gets Good News
John Danks underwent surgery on his Shoulder Of Mystery on Monday, and the news was not nearly as bad as it could have been.
Surgeons repaired a capsular tear in his left shoulder, along with minor debridements of the rotator cuff and biceps in his left shoulder. That's surgeon speak for "we fixed things."
Now, what's really good about all of this is that, depending on what doctors found in Danks' shoulder during the surgery, there was a chance he'd be out for at least a year, missing most of if not all of the 2013 season.
That won't be the case.
Danks will have his arm in a sling for four weeks, and the Sox expect him to be ready for spring training next year. Which is a load off my mind.
