A.J. Pierzynski Is The Greatest Baserunner In The History Of Mankind
Hawk has always said that A.J. Pierzynski is the best baserunner on the team. Admittedly, he's pretty heads up out there, but I've also seen Pierzynski do a lot of stupid things while running as well.
Of course, that won't keep Hawk from using Pierzynski's heads-up play on Sunday as further proof of the smartest baserunner he's seen in all or parts of his seven decades in baseball.
While it was smart, and awesome, you'll notice A.J. stopped at third first. It's possible Joe McEwing is the one who told him about the situation at home.
And even if it was Pierzynski, how smart of a baserunner do you have to be to realize that if there's nobody at home you can go there?
Was Pierzynski smart, or was Oakland just really stupid?
