Here's Your Crazy Rumor Of The Day
I wouldn't expect me to make a habit out of writing about every crazed Twitter rumor that comes along involving the White Sox, but since there really isn't shit else going on with the team right now, I'll make an exception for this one.
Mostly because it's coming from a guy on Twitter with 11 followers named Brad Rogers who says his cousin is Gavin Floyd's wife.
Never mind that this guy calls his cousin Leann when Gavin's wife's name is Leanna, or that a few tweets later he says his sister lives next door to Gavin and Leanna in Florida and she is the one who relayed the news which seems to back track on what his original source was, I'm sure it's all totally credible. I mean, it's the Blue Jays. Kenny loves trading with the Blue Jays.
As for the deal itself, our friend on Twitter originally said the deal was Floyd to Toronto for Kyle Drabek and Deck McGuire. Now, Drabek came to Toronto from Philly in the Roy Halladay trade, and McGuire was Toronto's first round pick in the 2010 draft.
That's a lot to give up for Gavin Floyd, right? Well, not to worry, our boy Brad now says that Matt Thornton may be going to Toronto along with Gavin. Which would make for a fairer deal, really.
Is it true? Probably not, but at least you're now aware of what's going on in the Twitters this evening.
Now, if you don't mind me, I've got to call my cousin who is married to a girl that went to high school with a guy named Gavin and a guy named Floyd to see if they know anything. That's just the kind of work I'm willing to put in for you people.
