White Sox Talking To Boston About Danks And Floyd

So far Kenny's great rebuilding plan has involved trading Sergio Santos and nothing more, though that doesn't mean he hasn't been talking to plenty of people.

There were rumors yesterday that Baltimore was interested in Gavin Floyd and Carlos Quentin, and Kenny also talked to the Red Sox about Quentin on Tuesday though no deal was struck. However, Kenny apparently isn't done talking to the Red Sox.

Gordon Edes says that the Sox are talking to Boston now about both John Danks and Gavin Floyd.

Whether or not this leads to anything, we'll have to wait and see.

Kenny contradicted himself when he said the Sox were rebuilding but that he didn't see them moving any of their starters because the offers were underwhelming. Well, while I won't spend a couple hundred words saying "Sure is smart to tell everyone you're rebuilding before you try to negotiate for your biggest assets, Kenny," that's what he did.

So I'm guessing that the Red Sox won't be offering Kenny what he's looking for with either player, and this one will fall through.

In fact, I'm starting to think that if either Danks or Floyd are moved this offseason, it won't be until after the meetings are over.
