This is not an easy post to write. Even though I've known it was coming for weeks now, the fact that it's now official doesn't really feel good.
Mark Buehrle is a Miami Marlin.
This according to Ken Rosenthal.
Four years and $58 million is a great deal for Buehrle, and yet another deal where the Marlins are paying more than they probably should, but they're more interested in building excitement right now than financial responsibility.
As for the White Sox, one of the last remaining holdovers from that 2005 World Series is gone, and it's going to be really weird to see Mark Buehrle pitching in a different uniform next season. Especially one as ugly as what the Marlins will be wearing.
He's been one of my favorite players for years now, and he will be missed.
And now we just wait to see who else is gone before spring.
