Extra Innings: 11/7/11

Extra Innings is a link dump that will run every weekday evening that features news stories that The Asylum didn't get to that day, or just posts throughout the White Sox blogosphere that are worth your attention.

- The latest player to be featured by Margalus following his trip to Cooperstown is Luke Appling. [South Side Sox]

- Paul Konerko, Mark Buehrle and Sergio Santos all got awards from the White Sox for being extra special. Adam Dunn got a stern talking to and was told to sit in the corner and think about what he's done. [White Sox]

- It makes a lot of sense for the White Sox to trade Carlos Quentin this winter, but should they? [White Sox Observer]

- This came as a bit of a surprise: the Twins fired general manager Bill Smith on Monday. No word on whether or not he was able to give Joe Mauer another $200 million before leaving. [Hardball Talk]
