Frank Thomas Wants You To Know He's Still Available

Remember earlier this month when Frank Thomas let the world know that he'd love to be the next hitting coach of the White Sox? Yes, well, it's been about three weeks since that happened and Frank Thomas has not been hired to be the hitting coach of the White Sox.

So just in case the White Sox forgot, Frank made sure to put it back out there on Monday night.

‘‘Of course I can be a hitting coach, but who knows if this is the right time for it or not,’’ Thomas told Joe Cowley. ‘‘We’ll see later. Kenny and them, they’ve got their own plan going on. You heard all the names being mentioned. They’ve got their own clique, their own nucleus that they’ve been working with. Do I fit? Who knows. Bottom line is they’ll make the right decision they need to make.

‘‘No doubt I can look at the swings of other players and see things. My style was my style, but the bottom line is getting the hands in the right position, the body in the right position, putting your head on the ball and making a good swing. I don’t care if you’re two feet, one feet, hands up, hands down. You just have to get to that same spot and make it work.’’

Listen, if Mark McGwire can be a hitting coach, then Frank Thomas can be a hitting coach. So if the White Sox actually ended up hiring Hurt for the role, I wouldn't exactly be upset about it.

The man's approach to hitting will end up putting him into the Hall of Fame soon, and he was the best hitter in the game for a while.

Surely this White Sox lineup could benefit from some of his knowledge.
